Welcome to the world of bassist, producer, drummer, composer, Brian Bromberg!
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would do a Holiday CD, ever! With a lot of coaxing and the curse of the Covid-19 quarantine, I was inspired to do this project and try and make music that was fun and uplifting in a very dark and challenging time for all of us. The cool thing about a Holiday CD is that is it not genre specific, it’s all about the great Holiday music that has been around for years and years. I’m a jazz guy through and through, so jazz is the basic foundation of this project, but it covers many styles of jazz from straight ahead big band, to swing and pop vocals, funk, Latin, and even some Caribbean island music with a touch of Hanukkah! The CD features the amazing talents of artists like: Maysa, Najee, Everette Harp, Elan Trotman, Chris Walker, and so many more. So, if the Holiday spirit moves you, please check out Celebrate Me Home: The Holiday Sessions. This CD was so much fun to make, a little Holiday cheer in a very tough time for us all…….
50 years ago today the world lost a giant, the incomparable Jimi Hendrix. Even though I was almost ten years old on this day 50 years ago, I remember vividly when we heard the news about his passing. I went into my bedroom and sat on the floor with all of his records. I just looked at his pictures and cried. I have no idea why a 9 1/2-year-old kid from Tucson, Arizona was so moved by Jimi, but I was. I will never forget that day. Today, in honor of Jimi we are releasing the remix/remaster of Bromberg Plays Hendrix on Mack Avenue/Artistry Music. I just wanted it to sound as good as possible as I would hope Jimi would be proud! Here is a little video of the bonus track on the new release that I just simply call Jimi. I hope you enjoy it!
